Hi all!
Before you begin your reading my teacher blog, let me just throw a little disclaimer out there…. I am not a "pro" teacher! Not even close! Nor am I a pro at blogging! This blog is to show you how REAL teaching is, and SHARE everything education related. I am a newbie teacher, who is trying to get this teaching thing down. Please feel free to follow to see what is happening in my classroom.
Why begin blogging about teaching?
Well for starters… the biggest thing I learned in college, was that teachers learn from one another. Teaching is a field where we are constantly trying to keep up to date, and think of ideas to reach all the types of learners in our classroom. It's a lot of thinking for one person to do! I will be sharing the shenanigans that is taking place in my classroom, that will hopefully be some type of help to you.
I also chose the blog life because I want to help other teachers, whether they be new or veterans to think of outside the box! I know other bloggers have really inspired me, and I hope in some little way I can reach out and inspire others!
I hope my blog is also a place where other educators can leave their suggestions or questions, so we can collaborate and grow as teachers! {We never stop growing as learners…or educators}
If all else fails, I hope this blog is entertaining with all my crafts and fun stories! :)
What's your goal as a teacher?
Ugh! I have so many goals! My mind doesn't stop setting them #goalchaser
As corny as it is.. I want to be a teacher where my students think " Wow, Miss Short supported me and loved me." I believe every child needs a cheerleader, and that is one of the hats I proudly get to wear as a teacher. I want my students not only to feel important inside my classroom, but inside their communities! My biggest goal is to have each student reach some type of success, whether big or small. I want to see my students be proud of who they are and know they are valued!
I want to help other educators {I know it sounds like a big goal for a newbie}. I am very nerdy in the sense of wanting to make things. Because of that I want to help other teachers by sharing things I create when possible to relieve some stress on them….or inspire teachers to create things in their own classroom! One of these days I will open a TPT once I figure that whole journey out! Overall, I just want to be some type of help to the education field and grow as an educator!
But THE biggest goal I have for myself…. *drum roll please*… is to stay a positive teacher. What on Earth do you mean?! No matter how tough my day may get, I want my students to experience a positive person in their life. I get it, teaching is HARD! It's not a job that just ends at 4 o'clock…our job follows us home, and it's exhausting! We spend a lot more than money on our careers…but instead of complaining, think of how you are enriching these student's lives. But even on those tough days, you have students that are looking for you to teach them, believe in them, and fight for them. I want to be a positive person for my kiddos!
